Measurements up

I just posted my measurements for this week. Not a bad turnaround since I ate junk and didn't workout M-W. I really just had 3 solid days Th-S so not a bad staart. I just need to continue through next week which shouldn't be too hard now that I'm on vacation.

So Far So Good

This is day 3 for me following a strict nutrition plan and workout routine and all is well so far. Although I've had a couple injuries, busted knuckle from boxing a hard post and a knee scrape on my desk, the workouts have been good and I've lost a couple pounds over these 2 days so far. My official measurements will be up tomorrow.

It's amazing how much more focused and driven I am after just 2 days of eating right and exercising. Comfort foods taste good right when you digest it but weigh on your stomach like a brick quickly after. Eating "clean" makes you feel much better throughout your day and gives you much more energy.

This will be a long tough journey but seeing hints of how I use to feel is great motivation to continue.

Back on the horse

My winter break is finally here...which means there are no more excuses for me not to eat right and workout hard. Day one was great. I got up early this morning and hit the elliptical for 20 min and followed it up with weight training for 40 minutes. My diet was spot on today as well. I'm tired of being this far gone from where I should be physically and now is the time to do something about it. And I can happily say that day one was a success.

Measurements up

Even though it's really sad, I have my measurements up online. Go to http://www.runfatboyrunyan.com/rickrunyan_progress/measurements.html to see my "progress". Also click on any of the buttons under "Weekly Charts" to see the progress each week with each individual measurement.

Pathetic I know

Well once again I've allowed something external to affect my progress. It is so much easier to keep at it once you've got a couple solid weeks under your belt. I just need to get to that. :) I had 3 solid days before Thanksgiving gave me a sucker punch. Then this week I've been sick. Just so you know these are not excuses. I'm still to blame for my lack of progress but I've never been good when I was sick. When I first started working out and eating healthy back in 2001, I wasn't sick for almost 2 years though so it wasn't that bad. Eating right and exercising had really helped my immune system. Now with as much crap as I've been eating over the last couple years and how little exercise I've had, my immune system is back to the way it once was. Anyway this isn't an excuse, just wanted to let you know that I ate 6 pizzas, Mcdonalds twice, KFC, 20 sugar cookies, etc etc this week. When I fall, I fall hard. :) I just don't care when I'm sick and I go towards those comfort foods. I need to get a couple solid weeks to help fight this. The good news is I only have 2 classes this week and I only have 3 more days of work before my break. Hopefully I'll be back to 100% soon and I will have no excuse but to get back to my old ways and hit the training and nutrition hard.

Measurements up! Dang Thanksgiving. :)

Well it doesn't look like I made any progress at all last week and the truth is, overall I didn't. This can be deceiving for some people on their journey for better health. I'm not making excuses for myself because the truth is I didn't make progress but I want to use this as an example. Sometimes you may make progress at the beginning of the week but then you slip towards the end and decide when you see you didn't make progress that this particular workout just doesn't work. Always give your workouts a chance for a few weeks before throwing in the towel. I was losing weight and inches at the beginning of the week but then a weekend of eating junk and sitting around knocked me back up. Just be aware of what you are eating and how much activity you really are doing each week to be honest with your workouts and yourself.

Measurements

I will take my measurements this morning and hopefully get them posted tonight on my site.

After Thanksgiving

OK, time to get focused again. I was out of town since Wed afternoon last week and just got back yesterday afternoon. I spent the weekend with Kassie's parents and ate a bunch of unhealthy food and my workouts were minimal at best. Now is the time that it is so easy to slip back into unhealthy habits so it's very important for me to attack quick and get back to eating right and working out. After very little sleep I decided to catch up on sleep last night so I didn't workout this morning which means I'll have to hit it tonight. That's always harder for me than in the morning so it will be a double challenge. Here we go.
